It looks like fall, and soon winter, are sneaking up on us whether we like it or not. Over the next few weeks I will be talking about winterization tips to help you safely put your boat into hibernation for the winter. Today’s topic – the misunderstood portable electric heater.
We know you love your boat and you want to make sure it is happy over the winter but the reality is it is not a puppy or small child. It is used to living outside on its own and really doesn’t need a portable heater to keep it warm. On the contrary countless boats have caught fire from shorts in the electric heaters. Give yourself some piece of mind…winterize your boat properly (or pay a trained mechanic to do so) and leave the fire hazard boxes as far away from your boat as possible.
